Flat Belly Challenge with yours truly!

So here’s my story, in a nutshell…and why I’m doing a challenge… {{Please note, I run a challenge like this EVERY month, so even if this post looks old, it’s still relevant!}}

I haven’t had kids (by choice!) But…as I got a little older, I was slowly gaining pounds. (why can’t we all stay 25?!) To say the least, I wasn’t crazy about gaining 2 pants sizes. Hey I know that’s not a lot, but it was enough to notice. I admitted early that I needed to do something. When I committed to making a change I went all in & haven’t looked back. FItness is part of my daily life now and I am so passionate about it that I always look for ways to pay it forward.

So now I’m looking for some ladies to make THEIR change WITH me. If you have been thinking about it, wanting and wishing you could really change, now’s the time to step up! I’ll be working closely with this group, daily. We’ll be serious about accountability & fitness and I’ll share TONS of tips & ideas, meal planning & motivation.

I am only taking 5 ladies so let me know NOW! I lost 2 sizes & am FITTER than I was when I was 25 and I know I can guide you to do the same. Your only role right now — COMMIT. Once you commit, I’ll help you do the rest!

Weekly Challenge #1

All right, it’s a new year, I’ll try a new THING!

How about a weekly challenge?

Are you up for it?

I think it’ll be a mixture of things, anything from a food challenge, to a fitness challenge, to a personal challenge. What do you think?

So, it’s the first week of 2012. Woo hoo! Happy new year! Let’s try to make ourselves even better than we already are.

So your challenge for this week: DECLUTTER

* I challenge you to go into one room of your house. With two trash bags. One marked DONATE, and one not marked. That one will be for trash. Go through all the drawers, cabinets, shelves in that room before this time next week. You can do a couple of shelves in one night and then break until tomorrow. But your goal is to FILL BOTH BAGS! I know you can do it. Be real with yourself. Which items have you not touched in the last year? Which items do you hate? Which items have you forgotten you had? Chances are you can DO without them.  If something’s broken, worn out, or useless, put it in the trash bag. If it’s useful, but just not for YOU anymore, put it in the donate bag and then TAKE it to be donated the moment it’s full. Don’t let it sit around!

When you declutter your home you’re decluttering your life. So let’s have a fresh start for the year and get one whole room clear of all clutter. One more rule. As you declutter, remember to also clean, wipe, dump any random bits, dust, grody-ness as you go. May as well be clean as well as clutter free since you’re already touching it all! 🙂

Every month I will be hosting a challenge for people to take part in but it’s not going to be like any other challenge, this will be quite different. I have hosted VERY successful challenges and have seen a lot of my friends and customers have GREAT results and success but there was also something that bothered me when I hosted them… it bothered me so much that I actually haven’t hosted a challenge in a while. What bothered me was that so many people would commit and then only a handful would follow through. We will all be in this together and what is so cool about these challenges I will be hosting starting in November is that we will all be doing the SAME THING… we will all be doing the same workout program, drinking shakeology, tracking our progress, staying connected in our private facebook group, etc. So if you are thinking “well I don’t have shakeology” well then YES what I am saying is you will have to commit to getting on shakeology and drinking it 1x per day. This will be a commitment for the 5 people I take in and I want us all to be 100% committed… I plan on giving 110% of myself to YOU to help you reach success and I want you to have the same commitment!

21 Day Challenge, starting soon!

I’m leading a 21 day health & fitness challenge – starting 8/29/11

I picked 21 days for the length because that’s the amount of time it takes to form new habits (or break old ones).The challenge I created will be a group of people who commit to 21 days of working out, eating healthier – and keeping a food diary, replacing 1 meal a day with Shakeology (Have you heard of Shakeology before? Soooo good and ridiculously healthy, email me at and I’ll send you info if you want to know more!). And on top of committing to it all, each participant will send me their food diary and exercise log every morning for the day prior. I’ll check them out and return any comments or suggestions I may have for improvements or motivation, etc. 
We’ll also have a group page on FB where all participants can chat throughout and keep the accountability high – and I’ll be on the page every day checking in and answering questions and providing suggestions.
Finally, the best part – everyone will send me their weight and waist measurements at the beginning…along with a “before” photo. They will be confidential, no one will see them unless the participant WANTS to share with other participants. Every few days I’ll send an email with tips, motivation, ideas, whatever may help. And every 7 days everyone will send in current weight & waist measurements. At the end of 21 days- final reporting of weight and waist and an “after” photo…and new habits will have been formed; most people will have lost weight and inches…and whoever lost the most PERCENTAGE of weight will win a prize— your choice of Hip Hop Abs Extreme DVD OR Turbo Fire Greatest HIITS DVD. 
So exciting! This type of challenge is very successful for those who commit to it – getting a boost through a plateau, forming those new habits, and seeing success is a great motivator to continue those good habits.

As for the workout commitment, I recommend a program, simply because of the structure and motivation it can bring to the table, but if there’s something else you prefer (I.E. running, walking) that will work too, it just may be harder for you to really push yourself for the best results.
